Yes, Texas Reststop:

Unlike it's NM counterpart, it is just a pull-off lane barely off the freeway.  Trees?  This is Texas, "We don't need no stinkin' trees!"  Shade?  a roof over a table.  Which, by the by, had no seating -- just the concrete table.

My Motel for Friday Night is the Motel 6 in Amarillo, Texas.  If they do not have high speed internet there is a McDonalds a bit to the west that does.  (the McDonalds next door to the Motel is not listed as having Freedomlink -- figures!)  There is also a Denny's just past the MickeyD, and several other eating establishments on either side of the freeway.

Ugly place, of course, it's in Texas!  In the photo, left, there's the parking lot, the frontage road, and the freeway -- less than a hundred yards away complete with noisy freeway traffic.

Naturally I get a room up front so I have a great view (complete with sound) of the freeway.  At least I get to park the bike right outside the door, not like Holbrook where I had to climb stairs.  And, as expected, no Internet.
